The Difference

Why people call us back.

We built this business on one idea: do the work properly, explain it plainly, charge fairly. That's it. No memberships, no monthly plans, no diagnostic specials that turn into $2,000 quotes.

01

Two decades on the tools

Twenty-plus years in residential and commercial HVAC. We've seen every brand, every failure mode, every shortcut a previous tech took. That experience means faster diagnosis and fewer return visits.

02

Straight talk, no upsells

When something can be repaired, we repair it. When it can't, we'll tell you honestly — and we won't try to sell you a replacement. We don't do installs, so there's no incentive for us to push a new system.

03

Show up, fix it, done

You'll get a clear quote before work starts. A real invoice when it's finished. And a working system when we leave. If something we touched fails within 30 days, we come back and make it right — no charge.

I highly recommend Mike and his HVAC business. He recently repaired my generator, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. What I appreciated most is that he truly stands by his work and cares about his customers.

How We're Different

Compare us at a glance.

Most HVAC shops sell installs AND do repairs. That means every diagnostic call has a built-in incentive to recommend a new system. We don't sell installs — so when a $200 part will fix it, that's what we tell you.

What We Service

Service done properly.

Repair and diagnostic work for residential heating, cooling, and gas appliances. No furnace, AC, boiler, or water heater installs — no high-pressure sales, no padded invoices. The one exception: indoor air quality add-ons (humidifiers, HRVs, UV, filtration), which we do sell and install. We show up, fix what's broken, explain what we did.

Frequently Asked

Straight answers, no runaround.

The questions we get most, answered plainly. Still not sure? Call or text (226) 242-1942.

What areas does Service First HVAC cover?
Service First HVAC Solutions is based in Tillsonburg, Ontario and covers Oxford, Brant, Norfolk, and Elgin counties. That includes Tillsonburg, Woodstock, Ingersoll, Delhi, Norwich, Simcoe, Aylmer, St. Thomas, Brantford, Paris, and the smaller communities in between. One flat service zone, no out-of-area surcharges.
Do you install new furnaces or air conditioners?
No. We are a repair-only shop. We diagnose and fix furnaces, air conditioners, boilers, water heaters, and gas appliances, but we do not sell or install new systems. The one exception is indoor air quality add-ons (humidifiers, HRVs, UV lights, and filtration), which we do sell and install. If you genuinely need a replacement, we tell you honestly and point you to a trusted installer.
Why repair-only? What is the catch?
No catch. Most HVAC shops sell installs and do repairs, which means every service call carries a built-in incentive to recommend a new system. We took the install side off the table on purpose. When a $200 part will fix your furnace, that is what we tell you, because we make nothing on a replacement.
How does pricing work? Will I get surprised by the bill?
The diagnostic fee is $99. If we can fix the problem on the same visit, it drops to $49. If it needs a return visit or a parts order, it stays at $99. Once we know what's wrong, you get a firm price for the repair itself, and we don't start until you approve it. So the only thing you commit to up front is the diagnostic, and you hear the full price before any repair work starts. No memberships, no monthly plans, no diagnostic specials that balloon into a $2,000 quote.
Do you offer emergency service?
Yes. The Emergency button on our website is monitored 24/7, every day of the year, for gas leaks, CO alarms, and no heat or no cooling in extreme weather. Regular bookings run Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., with same-day windows often available.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Service First is owner-operated by a licensed gas technician with over 20 years of field experience. We are TSSA registered (FS-R-53562), ODP-certified for refrigerant handling, and insured.
What brands do you work on?
All makes and models. Carrier, Lennox, Goodman, Trane, York, Amana, Rheem, American Standard, Daikin, and the rest. We are not tied to any manufacturer and do not sell new equipment, so the brand never changes our recommendation.
How do I book?
Online booking is fastest: pick a date and time, describe what is happening, and your appointment confirms instantly. You can also call or text (226) 242-1942. Both run through the same system and confirm into business hours.
